About Us

Socially Shared is a monthly business support network for women, founded in February 2015 by Karen Heap of Orchard Business Development.

Socially Shared was created after years of attending other networking and training events in and around the Midlands.  Each of these had it’s own clear aim and objectives, but there appeared to be a gap in the market for combining networking with real hands-on learning that would add immediate value to a business.

  • Workshops and training programmes do offer short term value to a business, but how do you continually develop and enhance your knowledge?

  • Where can you go to ask the questions that are important to you, after a workshop has ended, when you have returned back to your business?

  • Is there a way to keep my business knowledge up to date without having to attend formal sessions, but also where I can network with other like-minded people?

It was whilst considering these questions that the concept of Socially Shared was created. More than a networking group, Socially Shared is a relaxed, sociable environment, where women can learn more about the subjects that matter to them, ask the questions they need answers to and be able to develop themselves and their business on a regular basis.

"Socially Shared is totally different from other networking groups I've attended; it's whole ethos centres around learning while networking and each session has a themed business topic like 'knowing your customer' 'blog writing' 'time management' etc which are really useful with a handy worksheet with all the tips to take away."
